Funding and support

The Cochrane Metabolic and Endocrine Disorders (CMED) Group is funded through Health-Technology Assessment (HTA) contract work and receives support from the Medical Faculty of the Heinrich-Heine University, Düsseldorf (Germany).

Acknowledgements: We would specifically like to thank Gerd Antes, German Cochrane Centre, and Iain Chalmers, formerly UK Cochrane Centre, for their continuous support and untiring incentive to re-establish the Cochrane Diabetes Group and to expand its scope to that of a Cochrane Metabolic and Endocrine Disorders Group.

Cochrane's Central Executive Team are funded by royalties from its publishers, John Wiley and Sons Limited, which come from sales of subscriptions to the Cochrane Library. The individual entities of Cochrane are funded by a large variety of governmental, institutional and private funding sources, and are bound by organisation-wide policy limiting uses of funds from corporate sponsors.
